Vikram Solar, one of India’s leading solar module manufacturers and EPC solutions provider announced this week that it has successfully shipped 52.6 MW of solar modules, to its U.S. customer South-Carolina based Southern Current, for a ground mounted PV project. The order has been facilitated by Vikram Solar’s local U.S. office in Massachusetts.
Vikram Solar’s Eldora Grand Ultima Silver 72 cell polycrystalline modules are part of Southern Current’s latest 52.6 MW ground-mounted solar project. The company claims that the high output modules for reduced ‘cell to module’ power loss provide the performance reliability and are designed for very ‘high-efficiency areas’.
Gyanesh Chaudhary, CEO and Managing Director, Vikram Solar commented, “We are happy to be the chosen module partner for Southern Current. This goes to show how our modules meet with the highest international standards. We look forward to continuing this association and hope that it is a long lasting one.”
Southern Current, which is based out of Charleston, develops residential, commercial and utility-scale projects across the Southeastern US.
Greg White, Founder at Southern Current, commented “We are glad to partner with Vikram Solar through our Amicus Solar Cooperative, on this portfolio. Vikram Solar has demonstrated that customer satisfaction is a priority, and we look forward to additional partnership opportunities in the future.”
Recently, Vikram Solar announced the launch of its new line of solar modules using the latest Half-Cut-Cell technology. The new high-density module technology is engineered to generate more power from advanced mono-PERC (Passivated Emitter and Rear Cells) half-cells, thus achieving better Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE).
The company also announced the installation of 1461 kW worth of Rooftop Solar PV systems for Century Plyboards Limited at two of the company’s locations. The Chennai unit is worth 1056 kW and spans over 11,000 square meters across seven factory sheds and 3 evacuation points. The Chirai Moti unit near the Kandla Port in Gujarat is worth 405 kW spanning over 450 square meters.
