Nitin Gadkari unveils curtain raiser of ‘India Bioenergy & Tech Expo-2025’ by IFGE
Themed on “Transition to Net Zero: Need to Scale Up Bio-energy Initiatives” the curtain raise program was jointly Organized by IFGE and MM Activ in the presence of industry leaders and top government officials.

The curtain raiser for the 2nd edition of the India Bioenergy & Tech Expo (IBETE 2025) was held on April 23, 2025, in New Delhi, marking a significant milestone in India’s journey towards sustainable energy solutions. Organized under the aegis of Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE), the event set the tone for the main expo scheduled from September 24 to 26, 2025, at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi.
Gracing the occasion as Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari emphasized the strategic importance of bioenergy in India’s transition to a green & Bioeconomy. He said, “Biofuels are the future of clean energy. With proven tech, viable economics, available feedstock, and strong market potential, the time is now. We must focus on SAF, isobutanol, marine fuels, green hydrogen, and energy crops. Need to build a 50-year vision for a bio-based economy.”
Former Union Minister, Suresh Prabhu added, “Bioenergy offers a unique opportunity to align India’s growth with its net-zero goals. By scaling up investments, creating robust policies, and fostering innovation, we can position India as a global leader in clean energy. IBETE 2025 will be a critical platform to drive this change.”
The event was moderated by Sanjay Ganjoo, Director General, IFGE, and witnessed an audience of over 300 delegates spanning government, industry, academia, media, and civil society. Discussions covered key bioenergy sectors such as Compressed Biogas (CBG), Ethanol, Biodiesel, Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), and Densified Biomass.
The event brought together key stakeholders across the bioenergy value chain. Participants included Dr. Bhagwat Karad, Rajya Sabha MP, Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, Ambassador of Denmark to India, Anna Sahab M K Patil, Former Rural Development Minister, Atul Mulay, Chairman, President Bioenergy, Praj Industries, Dr. SSV Ramakumar, SAFF & EVP & CTO, Greenko/AM Green, Deepak Balani, DG, Indian Sugar & Bioenergy Manufacturers Association (ISMA), Varun Karad, CEO, REnergy Dynamics, Vijay Nirani, MD, Trualt Bioenergy, Prakash Naiknavare, MD, NFCSF Ltd, Ravi Gupta, Chairperson, IFGE: Sugar Bioenergy Forum and others.
