Electro-Oxidation Of H2 Can Improve Green Fuel Production By 30%: Report
MAN Industries, a company working in the field of pipes and infrastructure solutions announced the successful testing of its pipes for safe hydrogen transportation conducted by RINA Consulting – Centro Sviluppo Materiali S.p.A., Italy. This accomplishment marks a critical milestone in addressing a major hurdle in the shift to a hydrogen-based ecosystem i.e. efficiently delivering Hydrogen Gas to the point of use.
The world increasingly recognises hydrogen’s pivotal role in decarbonising industries and establishing a clean energy system. Hydrogen, crucial for unlocking renewable energy potential, can convert surplus solar and wind energy into on-demand electricity and power zero-emissions fuel-cell cars. However, transitioning to a hydrogen-based ecosystem faces a challenge in efficiently delivering hydrogen gas. MAN Industries addresses this with its pipes having passed the Hydrogen Service test, ensuring structural integrity and safety for hydrogen transport. This certification safeguards against challenges related to hydrogen’s small molecule size permeating materials more easily than other gases.
International collaborations, such as the partnership agreement between the International Hydrogen Trade Forum (IHTF) and the Hydrogen Council, emphasise the global commitment to hydrogen’s transformative role. Participating governments in the IHTF include Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Germany, Japan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, The Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States, Uruguay, and the European Commission on behalf of the European Union.
“This successful test underscores our commitment to innovation and sustainability. This safe Hydrogen transportation certification is a significant step towards zero emissions and energy independence. Aligned with India’s renewable energy goals, we’re proud to contribute to the nation’s journey by solving a critical puzzle in hydrogen gas transport. It’s not just our accomplishment; it’s a proud moment for the entire nation,” said Nikhil Mansukhani, Managing Director at MAN Industries.
In India, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has set ambitious targets of energy independence by 2047 and net zero by 2070, underscoring the importance of Green Hydrogen in achieving these milestones. This breakthrough reaffirms MAN Industries’ commitment to driving positive change in the energy landscape and marks a giant leap towards a sustainable and hydrogen-powered future.
