KIS Group unveils Indonesia’s second commercial BioCNG project

The unveiled project is the largest commercial BioCNG plant in Southeast Asia and also the country’s second commercial BioCNG project.

Singapore headquartered clean energy projects developer KIS Group has revealed a major milestone achievement in its biogas sphere as the company has unveiled Southeast Asia’s largest Bio-CNG facility in Indonesia.

The KIS Group held that the biogas plant unveiled is the largest commercial Bio-CNG plant in Southeast Asia and also the country’s second commercial Bio-CNG project. The two biggest of such biogas plants have been built by KIS Group only.

The firm said that the new facility is 100% commercially viable and it has been developed without subsidies or grants.

The biogas plant has been constructed under BOOM (Build, Own, Operate, Management) model by the KIS Group. “The highest investment in Indonesia in Biogas industry so far is done by us,” claimed the group in its statement.

“This project marks another step toward self-reliance on energy as per Indonesia President’s pledge to achieve energy independence & increase in renewable energy plus emissions reductions,” said the company. KIS Group also thanked all the stakeholders who were involved and supported this biogas project. They specially mentioned the works & support of the Unilever team.

In April last year, the company had announced that it has received 2 more repeat orders in 2024 in Indonesia where it already has substantial presence. The KIS Group has four successful projects in the country spanning over 13 years.

Last year, KIS Group received new orders to develop new biogas plants for Banas Dairy in Palanpur district of Gujarat, India with a capacity of 100 MT/day for each plant. Their first biogas plant for Banas Dairy has already been an award winner.
