Gulshan Polyols begins ethanol production at Assam facility
The company has revealed in its mandatory exchange filing that its 250 KLPD capacity grain based Ethanol Plant at Goalpara District has been commercially operationalised.
Ethanol maker Gulshan Polyols has announced that the company has commenced the commercial operations of ethanol at its 250 KLPD capacity ethanol plant in Assam. The ethanol facility is grain-based at Goalpara.
In an exchange filing, Gulshan Polyols stated, “We are pleased to inform you that the Company has successfully achieved another milestone by starting commercial operations of Ethanol at our 250 KLPD Capacity Grain based Ethanol Plant at Goalpara, Distt. Assam.”
In March 2024, Gulshan Polyols Limited held that it had received a ‘Consent to Operate’ (CTO) from the Pollution Control Board of Assam for the said ethanol plant.
Also, The company has recently been granted a contract valued at Rs 572 crore to deliver 89,404 kiloliters of ethanol to Bharat Petroleum Corp. and Hindustan Petroleum Corp.
Gulshan Polyols Limited (GPL), originally established as Gulshan Sugars & Chemicals Limited in 1981, began with a focus on manufacturing Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) and Activated Calcium Carbonate (ACC) with an initial capacity of 2,100 MTPA in Muzaffarnagar, UP. Over the years, GPL has significantly expanded its production capabilities, increasing its capacity to 105,000 MTPA.
Today, Gulshan Polyols is a diversified, multi-location manufacturing company with a global presence in 42 countries across three continents.
In terms of financial performance, the company reported a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 6.4 crore in Q4 FY24, compared to Rs 14.6 crore in Q4 FY23, reflecting a decline of 56.2% due to high raw material prices driven by increased demand for raw materials and grain across the country.
