GPS Renewables commissions its 3rd CBG plant; claims 99% methane purity

Biogas conglomerate GPS Renewables has announced that it has now operationalized its third compressed biogas (CBG) plant in the country and has done so in record time.

GPS Renewables has said that it has commercially operationalised its third CBG plant which is also its second CBG plant for India’s largest bioenergy project developer. The company said that it has commissioned the CBG plant well within 12 months.

GPS Renewables said, “Our Panipat plant has successfully generated on-spec CBG with 99% methane purity, using Made-in-India Optimaxx Hipurex technology, GPSR’s membrane-based biogas upgradation unit.”

The company also said that the commissioning also showcases its unwavering commitment to sustainable biofuel solutions.

“This remarkable achievement shows how our fantastic team’s hard work and dedication, along with the valuable lessons we learned from our Barabanki plant (Uttar Pradesh), have helped us move forward and achieve excellent results,” it said.

GPS Renewables has already set up about 100 biogas plants in India. Recently, it has secured orders worth ₹2,000 crore to undertake multiple CBG projects across the country.
