Tata Power Solar bags prestigious IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award

Tata Power Solar, India’s leading integrated solar company, has won the coveted IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award NQA award 2017 for achieving business excellence in the manufacturing category. It is the first ever solar company to win the award that is akin to the Malcolm Baldrige quality award criteria in the  US. The award was handed over in the glittering ceremony held at IMC Building, Churchgate, Mumbai in the presence of dignitaries from across industries. Dr. K Radhakrishnan, Former Chairman ISRO presides as the Chief Guest.

Tata Power Solar was adjudged winner on the basis of rigorous assessment on the various parameters of management like Leadership, Strategy, Quality, Customer, People, Technology, Operations, Processes and Business results. The evaluation process involved multi-level engagement with experts and senior examiners from various industries. Tata Power Solar was selected as the winner by an independent jury consisting of Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Mr. Keki Mistry, Dr. Ranjan Saxena and Dr. Gustad D Daver.

Speaking on the occasion, Ashish Khanna, MD and CEO of Tata Power Solar said, “This is the first time that we have participated in this prestigious national assessment and it is heartening to see that after the due evaluation and validation process, RBNQA has selected us as a national winner. This reinforces the trust of our customers and epitomises a core Tata Group value of striving for excellence in standards of our work and in quality of our products and services.”

The annual IMC RBNQA process has recognition levels. They are chosen from a number of participating organizations of repute, through a stringent assessment process by a panel of independent and trained assessors and judges against stipulated comprehensive criteria. It is one of the most respected awards for Quality and Performance Excellence in India.

As one of the largest solar manufacturers in India, Tata Power Solar operates world-class manufacturing unit in Bangalore, with a production capacity of 400 MW of modules and 300 MW of cells. It has completed more than 1.06GW of ground-mount utility scale and over 196 MW of rooftop and distributed generation projects across the country till date.
