Mahindra unveils maiden CBG powered tractor “Yuvo Tech+”
The new CBG-powered tractor, as claimed Mahindra, delivers power and performance on par with conventional diesel tractors, making it suitable for both farming and haulage tasks.
India’s top tractor brand Mahindra Tractors has unveiled its first Compressed Bio-Gas or CBG powered “Yuvo Tech+” tractor in New Delhi in the presence of Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways.
Mahindra held that this tractor marks a major leap in agricultural technology by utilizing compressed biogas, a renewable and eco-friendly fuel that reduces dependency on fossil fuels and lowers carbon emissions.
Compressed bio-gas is produced from biodegradable materials such as farm waste and food scraps. CBG is more sustainable option compared to CNG as the latter relies on fossil fuels. The new CBG-powered tractor, as claimed Mahindra, delivers power and performance on par with conventional diesel tractors, making it suitable for both farming and haulage tasks. The Yuvo Tech+ CBG tractor meets strict Indian standards and regulations.
The company said in its official statement, “Mahindra’s Yuvo Tech+ CBG tractor ensures operational power and performance comparable to conventional diesel tractor technology with the capability of handling farming and haulage tasks, while delivering robust power and performance.”
The CBG run tractor aligns with Mahindra’s vision to drive eco-friendly and sustainable technological solutions. Mahindra also aims to benefit both the agricultural community and the environment. The company said that it would continue to lead the agricultural sector with its commitment to developing innovative and sustainable products.
In recent years, Mahindra has also introduced other alternative fuel technologies, including CNG, LPG, and dual-fuel tractors.

Recently, Maruti Suzuki Chairman RC Bhargava held in the company’s annual report that the automaker will focus on vehicles running on renewable fuels in near future. This might include vehicles running on biofuels.
