Greenzo, H2e Power to boost green hydrogen projects in Himachal & Gujarat

Greenzo held that the electrolysers, each with a capacity of 5 MW, will be part of a complete system including separation, purification, and storage units.

In two key but separate developments, Greenzo Energy has won orders to supply electrolysers to Gujarat-based RBM Infracon for green hydrogen projects and H2e Power Systems has secured a tender from Oil India (OIL) to develop a green hydrogen of 1-MW project in the Himalayan state of Himachal Pradesh.

Big Boost to Greenzo

Greenzo Energy has announced its partnership with Gujarat-based RBM Infracon to supply electrolysers for green hydrogen projects. The companies have signed an MoU under which RBM Infracon plans to establish 15 MW of green hydrogen facilities across Jamnagar, Kutch, and Bhuj.

In a statement, Greenzo Energy shared, “This collaboration with RBM Infracon will explore green hydrogen generation in Gujarat. The project aims to develop facilities with a combined capacity of 15 MW.”

As part of the agreement, Greenzo Energy will provide electrolysers, a critical component for green hydrogen production, and offer comprehensive support in the design, development, engineering, procurement, and commissioning of the plants. The electrolysers, each with a capacity of 5 MW, will be part of a complete system including separation, purification, and storage units.

Sandeep Agarwal, Founder and MD of Greenzo Energy held, “Our inputs will support their operations, particularly in refineries where reducing sulfur content and carbon footprint is vital. It will also play an important role in the fertiliser industry, replacing conventional methods and promoting more sustainable agricultural practices.”

Himachal’s First Green Hydrogen Set-Up

H2e Power’s project is expected to be operational within 18 months of receiving the award letter. In December 2023, Oil India issued bids for a green hydrogen project in the state, aiming for a generation capacity of 17 kg/hour. H2e’s cutting-edge steam electrolysis system, which leverages solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) technology, offers reduced hydrogen production costs compared to traditional methods, with output ranging from 0 to 125%.

The supply of green hydrogen will be reported quarterly, with penalties of Rs 350.00 ($4.16) per kilogram for any shortfalls.

In 2023, the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) program was introduced under the Green Hydrogen Mission, with a budget of Rs 174.9 billion. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) allocated Rs 4 billion to establish two green hydrogen hubs, promoting large-scale hydrogen production and utilization.
